Obituary of Thomas P. Martin

Thomas Phillip Martin, Sr., 84, husband of Wanda Hardwick Martin, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Prince George Healthcare Center. Born on March 8, 1940, in Berkeley County, he was a son of the late James Billy Martin and the late Madge Wyndham Martin. Mr. Martin was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the tranquility of fishing, the warmth of family gatherings, and the delight of a well-cooked meal. Mr. Martin was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church; his faith was a cornerstone of his existence. Survivors include his wife of Bonneau; four children, Thomas P. Martin, Jr. of Shulerville, Dennis Martin (Joyce) of Macedonia, Kay Poston (Allen) of Georgetown and Karen Poston (Jamie) of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren, Phillip Martin, Brandon Martin, Dennis Martin Jr. (Whitney), Ricky Martin (Katlyn), Zachary Martin, Amanda Scoville (Tristan), Hannah Poston, A.J. Poston (Michaela), Tyler Poston, Emily Poston and Seth Poston; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Annette Mixon of Macedonia and Barbara Gaskins (Gene) of Macedonia; two brothers, Ronald Martin of Macedonia and Barry Martin (Debbie) of Moncks Corner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Martin; and two brothers, Bruce Martin and Delbert Martin. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Monday, May 6, 2024, in Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
