Wilma Janie Tanner Foxworth, 95, widower of John Henry Foxworth, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 14, 1930, in Georgetown County, she was a daughter of the late Wister Tanner and the late Rhodie Cribb Tanner. Leading a life of faith and kindness, Mrs. Foxworth served as a devoted member of Center Baptist Church. Along with her commitment to her church, Mrs. Foxworth dedicated many hours and efforts to serving others with grace and humility as a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
In her spare time, Mrs. Foxworth found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an extraordinary cook and had an unyielding passion for puzzles and word searches. Mrs. Foxworth also had a great fondness for auctions, and traveling. Above all, Mrs. Foxworth had great love for her family and enjoyed spending time and making memories with them.
Survivors include three children, Keith Foxworth (Rebecca) of Summerton, Dexter Foxworth, Sr. (Diane) of Johnsonville and Lisa Beam (Chuck) of Mooresville; special family member, Jo Anne Foxworth of Georgetown; six grandchildren, John Foxworth (Jennifer) of Columbia, Maria Foxworth of Columbia, Tina Foxworth of Andrews, Cheyenne Nance (Marson) of Arkansas, Dexter Foxworth, Jr. (Doran) of Mt. Pleasant and Trevor Beam of Charlotte, NC; one granddaughter-in-law, Sissy Smith of Hemingway; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Sam Eason Tanner (Millie) of Georgetown, Tom Tanner of Hemingway and Gene Tanner of Little River; a brother-in-law, Albert Woodberry of Hemingway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Foxworth; one sister, Cinda Woodberry; and one brother, Charles Tanner.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Center Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon – 1 PM Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Center Baptist Church, 2602 School House Dr. Hemingway, SC 29554 or to the charity of one's choice.
