William Alvin Dennis

William Alvin Dennis, 42, husband of Kelly Renee Taft Dennis, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2026, at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Born on August 20, 1983, in Georgetown, he was a son of Amy Alford Mixon and the late Willie Eugene Dennis, Jr. Alvin enjoyed riding motorcycles, drawing, spending time with animals, and reading his Bible. He had a playful way of aggravating his family and making them smile. Above all, Alvin cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and the memories they made together.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; his mother, Amy Mixon of Lake City; nine children, Austin Britt of Georgetown, Justice Tilton (Sammie Jo) of Andrews, Alexis Glass (David) of Andrews, Cheyenne Dennis of Galivants Ferry, Caree Howard (Cameron Green) of Georgetown, Makayla Dennis (Cade Matthews) of Johnsonville, Conlee Dennis of North Carolina, Madison Smith of Galivants Ferry, and Lexi Teleky of Tabor City, NC; a bonus child, Tiana Shockley of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Jason Michael Britt, Oakley Benish, Mobley Tilton, Ean Thomas, Jaxon Houston, Braxton Howard, Carson Howard, and Timberlyn Rose; one sister, DJ Dennis of Johnsonville; two brothers, Charlie Bell (Joy) of Knoxville, TN and Dustin Bell (Ashley Rios) of Johnsonville; one step brother, Jason Tilton (Angle) of Hemingway; one step sister, Tracy Jacobs (Andrew) of Darlington; one sister-in-law, Tammy Wrenn (Windham) of Conway; two step brothers-in-law, Jamie Ethridge (Monica Hancock) of Georgetown and Joey Ethridge (Michelle) of Georgetown; step-mother, Amelia Dennis of Andrews; mother-in-law, Evelyn Ethridge of Georgetown; mothers of his children, Marie Smith of Galivants Ferry and Dawn Carter of Johnsonville; a special friend, Paula Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie Eugene Dennis, Sr. and Bonnie Dennis; step grand mother, Mildred Prosser.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Friday, August 21, 2026, at Johnsonville Church of God. Burial will follow in Aimwell Cemetery, Old River Road, Pamplico, SC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
