Wilbur Earl “Buddy” Carter, 75, of Georgetown and husband of Shirley Middleton Carter, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on January 9, 1941, in Dillon, he was the son of the late John Wilbur Carter and the late Mary Williams Carter. Mr. Carter attended Georgetown First Assembly of God and was the owner of the Georgetown Tour Company. Mr. Carter enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Angel Sheridan (Dwayne) of Georgetown, Anthony Carter (Shannon) of Murrells Inlet and Darren Carter of Georgetown; and eight grandchildren, AJ Carter, Brittany Bellamy, Kayla, Kayci and Carter Sheridan and Catherine, Camryn and Cassie Carter. He was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Clarence and Onieta Grier. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Georgetown First Assembly of God with Rev. David Hoskins and Rev. Johnny Poston officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
