Warren Archibald Sherrer, Jr.

Warren Archibald Sherrer, Jr.,83, husband of Carolyn Harville Morris-Sherrer, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at his home.

Warren was born in Birmingham, Alabama on May 29, 1942, to the late Warren A. Sherrer, Sr. and Ruth Lyon Sherrer. He was a graduate of Pompton Lakes High School, Pompton Lakes, NJ and Fairleigh Dickerson University, Hackensack, NJ. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Air Force, the 44th Air Defense Missile Squadron and the 539th Fighter Interception Squadron.

Following his military service, he worked for General Relay and then for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ as On-Site Electronics Engineer on the Pershing Missile Project. He was an avid pilot and enjoyed flying. Upon retirement Warren was a General Building Contractor. He moved to Georgetown in 1995 and built his home in Belle Isle. Mr. Sherrer was a member of Duncan Memorial Methodist Church in Georgetown.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sherrer is predeceased by brothers, Herb, Barry and Kevin, and sister, Patricia Ann Brown.

Surviving are his son Scott Sherrer (Tiffany) Apopka, FL and daughter Tracie (Chase) Gallien, Pocasset, MA; step-sons: Cleve R. Morris (Shana) Myrtle Beach, SC and James L. Morris (Alishae) Hemingway, SC; Grandchildren: Blake Sherrer, Madeline Sherrer, Eilidh Gallien, and Henry Gallien; step grandchildren: Michaela Williams (Ryan), Evan J. Morris, Adelyn L. Morris; step great grandchildren: Remington Miles, Brinley Williams and Brooks Williams; sisters-in-law Judy Behler Sherrer of E Stroudsburg PA, Andrea Sherrer, Fredon NJ, and Janis H. Spearman of Pawleys Island SC; a brother-in-law Steve R. Harville (Betsy) Columbia, SC and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Florence National Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care along with Veterans Administration caregivers, for their loving care and support, and Wayne Methodist Church Mustard Seed Faith Group and Duncan Memorial Methodist Church.
