Vince Curtis Weaver, 96, widower of Bailey Carter Weaver, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Magnolia Bridge at Murrells Inlet.
To his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, he is simply their caring and loving Papa, but several are too young to fully understand that Vince was the epitome of a Servant Leader. In fact, Vince and Bailey, his high school sweetheart and bride, built a family of servants. His leadership was evident in how he lived his life. His priority was serving our Lord. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown. There, he was a member of the Dr. Lide Williams Sunday School Class, served as a Deacon, an Usher and on various committees over the years. He was also a servant leader to our country. He retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard as a Command Sergeant Major with over 35 years of service. In service to our country, he saw combat in the Korean War, responded to Hurricane Hugo and, at 60 years of age, was called back on active duty for a Special Assignment during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He served his country through the United States Postal Service where he retired as Georgetown’s Assistant Postmaster. After his retirement from the Post Office, Vince served as a civil process server for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years. He served the American Legion Post #114 and was a Master Mason with the Winyah Masonic Lodge. Because of his faith in Christ, he did not fear death. In his final days, when he knew his time on earth was ending, it was not unusual for him to pray for someone who had come to visit him. We know that he is in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has been told “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
