Tammy Burrell Atkinson, 57, wife of Matthew P. Atkinson, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on December 2, 1967, in Sylva, NC, she was the daughter of Roger Wayne Burrell and Gloria Gass Burrell. Tammy was a beacon of love and kindness. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, who were her pride and joy. As a dedicated wife and mother, she created a home filled with laughter, love and unforgettable memories. Tammy’s role as a mother and grandmother was one she cherished deeply and they were truly the lights of her life.

Survivors include her husband of Pawleys Island; mother and father of Sylva, NC; two children, Lauren Elizabeth Atkinson of Charlotte, NC and Joshua Alexander Atkinson of Lugoff; SC; three grandchildren that affectionately called her Nana, Jacob Fisher, Caleb Fisher and Evie Fisher; one brother, Tim Burrell and his wife Annie of Franklin, NC; three nieces, Chelsa Burrell of Asheville, NC, Ashely Atkinson of GA and Haley Hine and her husband Josiah of Port Orange; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patrica Atkinson and Donald Atkinson of Pawleys Island; and a brother-in-law, Ken Atkinson and his wife Angela of Port Orange, FL.

A memorial service will be held at a later at Pawleys Island Community Church.
