Stephen Bert Rogers

Stephen Bert Rogers, 58, husband of Wendy Sims Rogers, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home.

Stephen was born on September 18, 1967, in Georgetown, the son of Larry Bert Rogers and Emma Roselind Bailey Rogers. He was a member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church and worked for Santee Cooper for the past 20 years. Stephen had a great love for the outdoors, a passion that he carried throughout his life. Hunting, fishing, shrimping and flounder gigging were a few of his favorite pastimes. He was a long-time member of the Wadmacon Island Hunting Club, where he created lifelong friendships and memories with his sons and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Sims Rogers of Georgetown; parents, Larry and Rose Rogers of Andrews; two sons, Thomas Bailey Rogers and Jonathan Bert Rogers both of Georgetown; two uncles, Joe Rogers of Anderson and William "Bill" Bailey (Jackie) of Andrews; one aunt, Ann Brown (Bruce) of Kingstree; father-in-law, Bernard L. Sims of Georgetown; a brother-in-law, Freddie Sims of Georgetown; two nephews, Jackson Sims (Elizabeth) of New Jersey and Brock Sims of Georgetown; one niece, Josie Laliberte (Bryce) of Georgetown and his loyal companion, Poncho.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Lee and Elva Bailey of Andrews and Milton and Mary Rogers of Williamston; his mother-in-law, Naydean Sims.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, October 31, 2025, at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Holmes Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
