Samuel Owen Powers

Samuel Owen Powers, 47, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at his home.

Born on January 16, 1978, in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Dewey Esdon Powers and the late Andrea Miller Hartley. Sammy worked as an electrician for Chuck’s Heating and Air for 11 years. He lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Above all, Sammy’s greatest joy was being a father to his beloved daughter.

Survivors include a daughter, Lexi Powers (Shawn) of Andrews; a stepson, Daniel Roberts of Andrews; cousins raised as siblings, Clay Prosser (Sarah) of Bucksport and Dawn Hemeon (Eric) of Georgetown; two sisters, Kim Marlowe (Wayne) of Johnsonville and Shelley Kelly (Mike) of Lucia, NC; a brother, Randall Miller of Johnsonville; two nephews, Will Prosser (Ashley) and Joshua Elliott (Chelsea) all of Columbia; three nieces, Abigayle Hayden (Jason) of York, Catherine Grainger of Bucksport and Madeline Grainger of Bucksport; special family members, Robert and Becky Newton of Andrews; and a stepmother, Annette Powers of Georgetown.

He was preceded in death by his beloved adoptive parents, Bob and Louise Driggers; aunt and uncle, Carol and Elbert Prosser; a cousin that was raised as a brother, Eb Prosser; and two sisters, Tammy Miller and Jennifer Miller.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the family home.
