Robert M. Hanson

Robert Michael Hanson, 66, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his home.

Born on December 1, 1959, in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late George Francis Hanson and the late Florence Mary Duffy Hanson. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, he answered the call to serve his country with courage and commitment. Following his military service, Mr. Hanson dedicated 35 years to the New York City Police Department, where he faithfully served his community before retiring after a distinguished career with the rank of Inspector.

Beyond his years of service, Mr. Hanson found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for playing the guitar and was an avid animal lover. Whether spending time with lifelong friends or gathering with family, he treasured the moments shared with the people who meant the most to him.

Survivors include his siblings and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
