Robert "Bob" Lewis Buice, Sr.

Robert “Bob” Lewis Buice Sr., 86, widower of Annette Harvey Buice, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Grand Strand Medical Center. Born on July 16, 1939, in Bamberg, South Carolina, Bob lived a life marked by love, dedication, faith, and an unmistakable zest for living.

After graduating from high school, Bob married his longtime sweetheart, Annette Harvey, beginning a partnership that would anchor his life for decades. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before embarking on a distinguished career in retail management. He joined Edwards and relocated to Georgetown in 1971, remaining dedicated to his work as the company evolved into Big K and was later acquired by Walmart. Over the years, Bob rose through the ranks, serving as both store manager and district manager throughout coastal South Carolina. He took tremendous pride in the many associates he had the privilege of mentoring and working alongside during his career.

Bob's passion for life extended well beyond his professional years. He could often be found on the fairways of the Georgetown Country Club or Wedgefield Country Club, enjoying a round of golf with friends or traveling to NC or Wisconsin. Music was another great love, and while many may not have known it, Bob was once a talented guitarist and keyboard player. He loved nothing more than heading out to hear live music and spending time on the dance floor.

You could often find him at the Pawleys Island Tavern with his beloved "Pit Crew," listening to The Guys and doing what he loved most—the Shag. Bob never missed an opportunity to enjoy a dance and a margarita with salt.

A man of deep faith, Bob was a devoted believer and a cherished member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Those who knew him best take comfort in knowing that he is once again reunited with his beloved Annette.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his father, Verdelle Lester Buice; his mother, Patsy Pearle Buice; and his daughter-in-law, Angie Buice.

He is survived by his brother, Buddy Buice (Karel); his sister, Heather Richter (Denny); his children, Robbie Buice and Sylvia Ann Buice Martin (Danny) and their families; his grandchildren, Emily Buice, Tori Owens (Spencer), Kamie Rauf (Brian), and Keith Martin (Faith); his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Everette, Blakely, Bennett, Decatur, and Emery Ann; as well as his extended family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

Bob Buice was a man who loved deeply and lived fully. A great pleasure for him was driving his grands and great grandchildren on the golf cart and teaching them to play golf. The memory of him waving from the patio will be treasured by friends, family and his golfing buddies.

A visitation will be held from 11:00-11:45, with the service following at noon on Wednesday June 17Th at the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Interment will be in Bamberg, SC at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 18th at the Bamberg Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Georgetown Business Association, for the purchase of a flagpole; to be installed across from The Charters of Freedom in Rainey Park in Downtown Georgetown. Checks may be dropped off or mailed to: Art Harbor Gallery, 914 Front St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
