Rebecca Barrineau “Becky” Smith, 83, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home.

Born on March 25, 1943, in Andrews, she was a daughter of the late Carroll Theodore Barrineu, Sr. and the late Lizzie Ann Barrineau. Ms. Smith had a love for dance, taking lessons at the Charleston School of Dance. She later shared that passion with her hometown, teaching dance in Andrews. Her love for dance brought joy and confidence to many, and the friendships she formed through her teaching became lifelong treasures. Ms. Smith especially loved shag dancing and could often be found enjoying music with family and friends. Whether on the dance floor or simply listening to her favorite songs, music was a source of happiness that reflected her joyful spirit.

Above all, Ms. Smith treasured her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought endless pride and happiness to her life. She was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Jayne White (Harry) of Andrews, Carole Williamson (Walt) of Kingstree and Rod Smith (Tina) of Moncks Corner; three grandchildren, Lukas Harrell White (Brooke) of Union, Mary Grace White of Andrews and Lizzie Caroline Williamson of Kingstree; one great grandson, Paxton Carter White of Union; four step grandchildren, Robbie Davis of Moncks Corner, Chandler Davis (Jene') of Duncan, Leon Davis of Orangeburg and Tracianne Canales (Angel) of Aiken; four step great grandchildren, Paisleigh Jo Davis of Duncan, Ella Mae Davis of Duncan, Lukas Davis of Orangeburg and Forrest Davis of Orangeburg; one brother, Thomas O. Barrineau (Susan) of Andrews; two sisters, Gwendolyn Ward of Mt. Pleasant and Sonya McConnell of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother Carroll T. Barrineau, Jr.; and four sisters, Hazeline Morris, Bronte Scott, LaJean Kinder, and Delaine Payne.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, July 20, 2026, in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
