Rebecca Smith Mixon, 82, wife of Phillip Mixon, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, at her home.
Born on October 7, 1943, in Hemingway, she was a daughter of the late George Harvey Smith and the late Stella Odean Huggins Smith. Mrs. Mixon was a lifelong member of Elim United Methodist Church, where she devoted countless hours serving her church and church family.
In 1969, Mrs. Mixon and her husband opened Andrews Auto Parts. Together, they grew the business with dedication and hard work, serving the community for 35 years before retiring in 2004. Their commitment to excellence and service left a lasting legacy.
Mrs. Mixon's loving nature extended beyond her family and business endeavors. She had a great love for doing things for others, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her passion for sewing and smocking was not only a personal joy but also a gift she shared generously. She dedicated her time and talent to those in need, sewing with care and compassion for many.
Above all, Mrs. Mixon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in their achievements and happiness. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were a source of strength for those she loved.
Mrs. Mixon is survived by her loving husband, her children, grandchildren, and countless friends who were like family. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of Andrews; two children, Phillip Kendall Mixon (Nalani) of Columbia and Bethany Mixon Moore (Justin) of Andrews; six grandchildren, Jessica Gabel of Summerville, Kendall Mixon of Charleston, Matthew Gabel-Baird (Trevor) of Summerville, Wallace Mixon of Columbia, Heath Moore of Andrews and Greyson Moore of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 26, 2025, at Trinity Global Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM at the church.
