Phillip Harding Taylor, 53, passed away on July 5, 2025.
Born June 26, 1972, in Florence County to the late Nancy Diane Meads Taylor. Phil was known for his unwavering kindness and infectious smile and embodied the spirit of generosity and friendship. Phil found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A devoted enthusiast of drag racing, he spent countless weekends at the track, where his passion for the sport was rivaled only by the camaraderie he shared with fellow racing aficionados. Phil was more than just a racing enthusiast; he was a beacon of dependability and warmth. Known for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need, he was the friend you could always count on. His selfless nature and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Survivors include special friends that were more like family, Landree Marie "Tootie" Caulder, Cameron Johnson, Dale and Tamara Johnson, Noah Johnson, Riley Johnson, Kaylee Byers (Alan Caulder), DJ and Sunshine Johnson; a daughter, Lakin Taylor; four grandchildren, Hayde-Ann Brigman, John King, Carmen King and Paisley-Lynn King; two step daughters, Whitney Wells and Kayla Wells; two step-grandchildren, Latrell and Ayden Muldrow.
Pallbearers will be Dale Johnson, Jacob Ladd, Alan Caulder, Squeaky Jordan, DJ Johnson and John Stone.
Graveside services will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, July 20, 2025, in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a recovery center of one’s choice.
