Paul Lynwood Cooper, Jr.

Paul Lynwood Cooper, Jr., 58, beloved husband of Melissa Graham Cooper, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Born on December 4, 1966, in Georgetown, he was the son of Donna Missroon Cooper and Paul Lynwood Cooper, Sr. Mr. Cooper’s work ethic was legendary. Known for his punctuality, he was always early to arrive and the last to leave, ensuring every task was completed to the highest standard. He was respected deeply for his commitment and integrity.

Mr. Cooper grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors, a passion that would accompany him throughout his life. As a proud member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Ducks Unlimited, he was committed to the protection and responsible enjoyment of wildlife. Along with his love for the outdoors, Mr. Cooper enjoyed riding motorcycles and above all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter and countless shared memories.

Mr. Cooper was a member of Screven Baptist Church and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering sense of duty. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Graham Cooper of Georgetown; parents, Donna Missroon Cooper and Paul Lynwood Cooper, Sr. of Georgetown; two children, Paul Lynwood Cooper, III (Suzannah) of Rock Hill and Courtney Lane Swails (Tripp) of Andrews; three grandchildren, Elliana Jane Swails, Pierson Taylor Swails and Tucker Graham Swails; a sister, Mandy Cooper Cherry (Jack) of Fort Mill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mildred Missroon; and paternal grandparents, James Madison Cooper and Mary High Cooper.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 PM Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Screven Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4:00 PM Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
