Patricia N. Mincey

Patricia Nelson Mincey, 81, widow of Horace B. “H.B.” Mincey, Jr., passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home.

Born on February 8, 1945, in Knoxville, TN, she the daughter of the late Samuel H. “Red” Nelson, Jr. and the late Ruth Hensley Nelson. Mrs. Mincey was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and retired from International Paper Company after 24 years of service. In her spare time, Mrs. Mincey enjoyed watercolor painting, reading and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include three children, Kelly Hatfield Cross of Georgetown, Gary R. Hatfield of Maryville, TN and Horace B. “Ben” Mincey, III of Surfside Beach; seven grandchildren, Aaron Hatfield, Ashley Hatfield, Courtney Strickland, Keziah Mincey, Michael Mincey and Gabriel Mincey; three great grandchildren, Masyn Strickland, Caiden Carr and Camden Carr; a special cousin, Diane Nelson of Corryton, TN; loving caregiver, Brenda Deas of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, CJ Strickland.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Entombment with following Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday at the church.
