Ned Francis Rogers, Jr.

Ned Francis Rogers, 61, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born on October 13, 1964, in Georgetown, he was a son of Judith Pelkey Rogers and the late Ned Francis Rogers, Sr. Ned was raised in the Lowcountry, and built a life rooted in hard work, music, and deep connections with the people around him. For many years, Ned worked as a machine operator in the container division of International Paper Company, where he was known for his steady work ethic, reliability, and the easygoing spirit he brought to every shift. His coworkers remember him as someone who could make even the toughest days feel lighter.

Outside of work, Ned found joy in playing music — a passion that followed him throughout his life. Whether he was picking up a guitar at home or sharing a tune with friends, music was his way of bringing people together.

Survivors include his fiancé, Agnes McClellan of Georgetown; two children, Nicholas Rogers of Georgetown and Corey Rogers of Virginia; an honorary son, George Allen Long, Jr. of Georgetown; one granddaughter, Allee Regina Rogers of Socastee; and one sister, Norma Foxworth (Jerry) of Georgetown.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Chris McCraw.
