Nanette Wheeler Ward

Nanette Wheeler Ward, 69, widow of Phillip Raymond Ward, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her daughter’s home.

Born on November 20, 1956, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late William Pharow “Buster” Wheeler, Jr. and the late Hannah Louise Huggins Wheeler. Mrs. Ward was raised in the Earles Community, a place she called home her entire life. She was a member of Earle Methodist Church and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time outdoors. Above all, Mrs. Ward treasured her role as “Nanny” and her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Survivors include one daughter, Billie Ward Camlin (Andy) of Andrews; three grandchildren, Cody Camlin (Mary Kathryn Wilder), Dru Camlin and Emorey Camlin all of Andrews; one great grandchild, Keighton Camlin of Andrews; two sisters, Alice Watson of Georgetown and Helen Morris of Andrews; two sisters-in-law, Kay Wheeler of Andrews and Sue Creel (George) of Florence; special friends that were like family, Lyndsay Morris and Dylan Morris and Ellie Sinclair all of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William P. “Bill” Wheeler, III and Bruce D. Wheeler, Jr..

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Earle Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday at the church.
