Michael Wallace

Michael Harry Wallace, 76, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his home.

Born on August 28, 1950, he was a son of the late Harry V. Wallace and the late Barbara Ann Bellflower Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a man who lived life with passion, purpose, and a true love for the people and things that brought him joy. He enjoyed surfing and was a proud member of the North Pawleys Island Surf Club. The water and the beach held a special place in his heart, as did the many friendships he made along the way. Music was another great love of Mr. Wallace’s, especially beach music. He enjoyed playing music and was a talented musician who played in a band. He also loved riding motorcycles and spending time on the golf course.

A man of many talents, Mr. Wallace could fix, build, and create just about anything with his hands. He worked as the Maintenance Manager at First Baptist Church, where he worked alongside his great friend, Cindy Jordan. His willingness to help and his ability to make things work made him someone others could always depend on. Mr. Wallace worked for many years at International Paper Mill and was also very active in the restaurant business. His love for the restaurant industry eventually led him to own his own restaurant, Mikey’s Place.

Above all, Mr. Wallace will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his many talents, his love of music and the beach, and the friendships he made throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Survivors include a daughter, Shanna Slomba (Matthew) of Roanoke, VA; two grandsons, Adam Forsyth of Summerville and Aaron Forsyth of Goose Creek; one great grandchild, Jada Forsyth of Summerville; special friend, Connie Wallace of Stuart, VA; one sister, Sherhal Bone (Ricky) of Georgetown; one brother, Darrell J. Wallace of Murrells Inlet; co-worker and friend, Cindy Jordan of Georgetown; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Stuart, VA.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Forsyth.
