Manning Leon “M.L.” Cribb, 85, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on February 20, 1940, in Georgetown County, he was a son of the late Leon Manning Cribb and the late Thelma Carter Cribb. Mr. Cribb was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a part of the Dr. Lide Williams Sunday school class. His unwavering faith and passion for serving the Lord guided him throughout his life, and he found solace and wisdom in reading his Bible. Mr. Cribb dedicated 43 years of service to International Paper Company as a millwright, where he was known for his work ethic and loyalty.
Mr. Cribb enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as fishing with family and friends. Family was at the heart of Mr. Cribb’s life. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, eagerly following their various games and activities, cheering them on with boundless enthusiasm and love. His presence at these events was a testament to his unwavering support and devotion as a grandfather. Mr. Cribb leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Roberta Owens Cribb of Georgetown; two children, Sharon Jackson (Gary) and Keith Cribb (Vicki) all of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Nolan Jackson (Sara) of Myrtle Beach, Courtney Jackson of Hemingway, Lauren Shaw (Scott) of Georgetown and Brandon Cribb (Jazmin) of West Ashley; four great grandchildren, Manning Jackson, Ayden Legoff, Carter Shaw and Porter Lynn Shaw; one sister, Doris Simmons of Hemingway; two nieces, Gay Simmons of Johnsonville and Shelli Denne (Charlie) of Simpsonville; two nephews, Will Simmons (Jane) of Johnsonville and Patrick Cribb of Norfolk, VA; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by great grandchild, Emma Grace Jackson; one sister, Joyce Cribb; and one brother, Herbert Earl Cribb.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, September 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Good Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
