Loyd Conrad Morris, son of John Oscar and Chettie Pinner Morris, died peacefully at home on January 6, 2024. He was born on September 20, 1935, in Andrews, South Carolina. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brothers, Thomas Ostavus, John Elwyn, Oscar Theron, and half-brother John Harry; his sisters, Miriam Elizabeth Morris Thompson, Dorothy Mavis Morris Davidson, and Martha Wanda Morris McCants; and, two granddaughters, Laura Elizabeth Kerrison and Olivia Kathleen Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ada Joan Green Morris, also of Andrews; a sister, Honor Morris Pierce of Columbia, SC; four children, Joan Morris Kellahan (Kimbo), Brenda Morris Kerrison (Paul Stoube), Amy Morris Edwards (Hugh), and Loyd Conrad Morris, Jr. (Lisa); nine grandchildren, Ken Kellahan (Meredith), Justin Kellahan (Tracy), Conrad Kellahan (Blair), Katie Wheeler (Bill), Rebecca Kerrison, Kaitlin Distler, Joanna Lavertu (Nathan), Caroline Brown (Tyler), and Loyd C. Morris, III; 19 great-grandchildren; and, many nieces and nephews. Loyd was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Andrews, SC. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1954, and married his high school sweetheart in 1955. He served in the SC National Guard, A-Battery, 4th BN, 178 Field Artillery; was a member of Trinity Global Methodist Church, a member of Harpers Masonic Lodge #225, and The Omar Volunteers. His hobbies included auto racing, cooking, hunting with his son and grandchildren, and attending every sporting event of his children and grandchildren over three generations. He was an avid fan and supporter of the Williamsburg Academy Stallions and the Clemson Tigers. Loyd was a man of few words, had the patience of Job, and a generous heart. He treasured time with the love of his life, his children, and grandchildren. He spent his entire life loving and serving others. He leaves behind many happy and fun memories along with the precious legacy of the importance of family. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, January 8, 2024, at Trinity Global Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center. Memorials may be made to Trinity Global Methodist Church, 205 S.
