KateLynn Dowe Owens, 18, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Born on October 11, 2007, in Charleston, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Davis Owens and William Shawn Owens. KateLynn was a 2026 graduate of Williamsburg Academy and was continuing her education at Williamsburg Technical College. She was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working with the children. KateLynn had a heart for serving others and enjoyed volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse through Operation Christmas Child, bringing joy and hope to children around the world. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and spending time on the Rose Hill Hunting Club, a place where she created countless memories with family and friends. KateLynn also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Cotton, who was a constant companion and source of joy.
Above all, KateLynn loved her family and the Lord. The time she spent with those she loved was precious to her, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Survivors include her mother and father of Andrews; maternal grandparents, Randy and Gwen Davis of Andrews; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Linda Owens of Johnsonville; one sister, Blakely Brown (Gibson) of Andrews; boyfriend, Will Hemingway of Georgetown; one aunt, Leslie Piatt (Scott) of Andrews; one uncle, Vernon Owens, II (Elizabeth) of St. George; cousins, Garrett Piatt of Andrews, Chase Owens of Elgin, Bailey Ison of West Ashley, Bryleigh Owens of St. George, Dowe Owens of St. George, Harper Owens of St. George and Naomi; and numerous extended family and special friends.
She was preceded in death by a special friend, Anna Grace Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Monday, August 31, 2026, at Andrews First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at Andrews First Baptist Church.
