Joseph Allen "Joey" McConnell

Joseph Allen “Joey” McConnell, 56, husband of Bridgette P. McConnell, passed away June 5, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 19, 1968, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Roy Ervin McConnell, Sr. and the late Joyce Harter McConnell. Joey lived a life marked by simplicity, adventure, and hard work. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures and lived each day to the fullest. Joey enjoyed spending time outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing or riding his motorcycle.

A skilled craftsman, Joey worked in residential construction and took great pride in his work.

His love for life was matched only by his love for those around him. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Survivors include his wife, Bridgette P. McConnell; five children, Joshua McConnell, Michael McConnell, Katie Reinitz (Robert), Hunter McConnell (Maggie) and Lucas McConnell; three grandchildren, Bella Lail, Cori Reinitz and Madison Reinitz; two brothers, Roy McConnell (Pam) and Scott McConnell (Pam); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Christopher McConnell and Wayne McConnell.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 8, 2025, in Bethel Global United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
