John Leonard Whitnauer

12:30John Leonard Whitnauer, Jr., 69, husband of Janis Cribb Whitnauer, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his home.

Born on January 29, 1949, in Charleston, he was a son of the late John Leonard Whitnauer, Sr. and the late Retha Mae Cribb Whitnauer. Mr. Whitnauer was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and was a former volunteer fireman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Jennifer Whitnauer of Georgetown, Ricky Whitnauer (Ronica) of Georgetown and Billy Whitnauer of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Adam Moore, Gavin Ward, Holly Whitnauer, Ricky "Bambam" Whitnauer, Jr. and Emma Whitnauer; one sister, Sherrell Whitnauer of Macedonia; one brother, Franky Whitnauer (Minnie) of Hollywood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Whitnauer, Jack Whitnauer and Larry Whitnauer; and two sisters, Linda Hewitt and Merrell Cassleman.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at Ringel Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Friday at the church.
