John Henry Wallace, 81, husband of Betty Bryant Wallace, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at his home.
Born on March 23, 1945, in Scranton, he was a son of the late Ernest Wilson Wallace and the late Avis Theo Gause Wallace. He was a member of Duncan Memorial Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, proud patriot and servant of the Lord. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and laughter. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force as a C130 crew chief. His service reflected the deep patriotism he carried throughout his life marked by dedication, discipline and pride. He was a man of Christian faith who loved his Lord and worshiped with his family. He gave of his talents in the mission field and reflected Christ’s love by helping others in need. He loved spending time in the outdoors with family and friends. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and in his younger years he enjoyed bird hunting. Whether in the woods or on the water, he felt at home in nature and treasured those moments which were always shared with family and friends. He loved his family fiercely and was a steady presence, a protector and constant source of love and support. As his child or grandchild, there was nothing better than when he was proud of us. He expected great things of those he loved and although we felt like we could not measure up to those expectations at times, we always knew he loved us and wanted the best for us. He will also be remembered for his joyful spirit and prankster personality. He had a gift for making others laugh, leaving behind countless cherished memories. Though he is no longer with us, his faithful love, laughter, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
