John Scott McLeod

John Scott McLeod, 86, husband of Audrey Lee Langley McLeod, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at his home.

Born November 20, 1939, in Georgetown, Mr. McLeod was the son of the late Edward Ernest McLeod, Jr. and Margaret Mallard McLeod. He was a United States Navy veteran and earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources from St. Leo College. A member of Screven Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon and Adult Sunday School Secretary. He enjoyed time with his family, along with fishing, hunting, and playing golf.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; two children, Amanda McLeod and Scott McLeod both of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Karlyn McLeod of Columbia, Christopher McLeod of Georgetown, and James McLeod of Georgetown; one sister, Joan Gause of Myrtle Beach; a sister-in-law, Betty Bassett McLeod of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Ernest McLeod, III.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Screven Baptist Church. The visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Burial will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
