Janice Barnhill Howell

Janice Barnhill Howell, 77, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on November 28, 1948, in Conway, she was a daughter of the late Dock Champion Barnhill and the late Juley Idell Johnson Barnhill. Janice was a member of First Assembly of God and lived a life of service to everyone she knew. She, alongside her husband, Jackie owned and operated Georgetown Insulation for 43 years until her retirement. Janice DANCED through life, whether she was shopping, spending a day at the beach, or playing tennis; she found joy in every moment.

More than anything, Janice loved her family. She treasured every chance to be together, and her grandchildren brought her endless happiness. The time she spent with them was among her greatest blessings.

Janice will be remembered for her kind heart, generosity, and the way she put others before herself.

Survivors include two children, Russell Jackie Howell, Jr. (Michelle) of Georgetown and Dana Howell McCarthy (Vincent) of Charleston; grandchildren, Taylor Jessica Howell of Georgetown, Virginia Ann McCarthy, William "Alex" McCarthy, and Olivia June McCarthy, all of Charleston; one great grandchild, Maylynn Carter of Georgetown; one sister, Mildred Fesler of Goose Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allison Brooke Howell; two brothers, Dock Junior Barnhill and Dwight Barnhill; and three sisters, Vivian Martin, Geraldine Causey and Ann Zurcher.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life from 2 PM – 4 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Janice’s home, 220 Cleburn St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
