Janet Michau Blackmon

Janet Michau Blackmon, 67, wife of James Kim Blackmon, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2026, at her home.

Born on May 24, 1959, in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Clemmons Michau and the late Lula Roberts Micahu. Mrs. Blackmon was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a former member of Screven Baptist Church. She worked in the banking industry in the Georgetown area for 30 years before retiring from Plantation Federal.

Mrs. Blackmon enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Disney World, and spending time at Pawleys Island Beach. She was an avid football fan and especially loved cheering on her beloved South Carolina Gamecocks. Above all, Janet cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

Survivors include her husband, James Kim Blackmon of Georgetown; one son, James Jason Blackmon (Kayse) of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Maverick Kennerly Blackmon and Drake Clemmons Blackmon both of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ulmer James Michau, Donnie Clemmons Michau, Jimmy Michau and Larry Glenn Michau.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday. November 11, 2026, in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the home following the service.
