Hugh Purvis Green, 74, widower of Kathryn Todd Green, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at MUSC.
Born on July 22, 1951, in Andrews, he was a son of the late Bertha Mae Wise Green and the late Purvis Shepard Green. Mr. Green was a member of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church and dedicated many years of his career as an insurance salesman. His unmatched charisma and keen understanding of people's needs made him a remarkable professional. It was a running joke that he could "sell ice to an Eskimo," a testament to his extraordinary salesmanship and genuine ability to connect with others.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Green was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing or spending evenings watching "MASH" and John Wayne westerns. His love for racing and mechanics was evident in his constant tinkering with vehicles, always seeking to understand and improve their performance.
