Hazel Annette Blake

Hazel Annette Blake, 85, widow of Jerry Blake, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at her home.

Born on August 15, 1940, in Marion, she was a daughter of the late Mattie Mae Cain and the late Howard B. Tilley. Mrs. Blake was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church in Aberdeen, NC and was known for her love of going to yard sales, crafting, sewing, and writing children’s stories. Above all, Mrs. Blake was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved doing things for her beloved family.

Survivors include one daughter, Mandy Midkiff (Eugene); a special stepson, Kenny Blake (Melissa); eight grandchildren, Regina Trejo (Salomon), Franklin Grice, Jr. (Danielle), Ashley Grice, Timmy Grice, Jr., Sara Grice, James Grice, Elizabeth Grice and Kevin Midkiff (Deborah); and 13 great grandchildren; special cousins, Sandy Watford, Debra Brown and Victor Caine; and numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Russell Grice, Tim Grice, Sr., Andy Grice and Matthew Grice; a grandson, Kolton Grice; and a sister, Pat Tilley.
