Dr. Stanley T. Prince, 76, husband of Linda Watford Prince, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his home.
Dr. Prince was born in 1949, to the late Francis Middleton Prince and the late Elease Moore Prince. He graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in 1967 and then went on to serve in the National Guard from 1968 to 1974. During that time, Dr. Prince graduated from Lander University in Greenwood, SC with a degree in Sociology. After graduating from college, Dr. Prince went on to work for the American Cancer Society as an Area Representative from 1974 to 1976. In 1975 he married the love of his life and the two moved to Guadalajara, Mexico in 1977. After moving to Mexico, Dr. Prince began studying medicine at La University Autonomous de Guadalajara and in 1981 he graduated with a Medical Degree. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Prince and his family moved to Baltimore, MD and he attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Fifth Pathway Program, afterwards beginning his residency at Maryland General Hospital in Obstetrics & Gynecology. After completing his residency in 1987, Dr. Prince and his family moved to Lititz, PA where he went into private practice, in Ephrata, PA, an Obstetrician-Gynecologist.
Dr. Prince was a FANTASTIC husband, father and grandfather. He always put his family FIRST when having the time, but as a dedicated heath care practitioner, there were many times his patients had to have immediate care. All in all, he ALWAYS made sure his family was taken care of. Dr. Prince had a kind and giving heart to ALL, putting the care of everyone above himself.
Dr. Prince had a variety of interests. He loved books and was an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction. Dr. Prince was quite the history buff and loved the "oldies" music as well as old country music, such as Alabama, the Oakridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, George Jones, etc. He truly enjoyed doing karaoke and had a fantastic professional setup in his basement along with a setup of drums. Dr. Prince played the guitar and taught his son, Stanley, how to play the guitar. When his sons grew up, they would all sing and play the drums along with many of their friends.
Dr. Prince had a GREAT sense of humor and loved telling jokes, jokes that EVERYONE enjoyed hearing! He was a wonderful storyteller and had a way of mimicking accents and the way others talked. Dr. Prince was hilarious and had a way of making others roll in laughter!
Dr. Prince had a great love for his family’s "getaway home" in West Virginia. A place that was peaceful, beautiful and filled with wildlife. His love for this home, books and reading, led him to amass a great library, a task he completed this past year with the help of GREAT neighbors, Jack Moore and David Hess. The library is currently filled with a collection of Dr. Prince and Jack’s books. He was also a great poet and one of his and Linda’s poems was published in a hardback book.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Stanley T, Prince, II (Jennifer Leach) and Justin Watford Prince; two grandchildren, Adelyn “Addy” Prince and Stanley T. “Trey” Prince, III; a half-brother, Walter Clyde Armstrong; a brother, Ernest Norris Prince; and two sisters, Cameron Pearl Caldwell and Lina Sue Prince Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, James Francis “Jimmy” Prince.
