Delaney Anne Shockley

Delaney Anne Shockley was born on February 6, 2009, in Prince Frederick, Maryland, to Nora Leigh Penn and Rusty Shockley. Delaney grew up in Calvert County, Maryland, where she enjoyed playing softball, playing the piano, and learning Irish step dancing alongside her sister and best friend. She later moved to South Carolina, where she had just completed her junior year at Andrews High School in Georgetown County.

Delaney loved her job at Seven Brew in Pawleys Island. For more than a year, she was a dedicated employee known for her strong work ethic and positive attitude. She was proud of the savings she had earned through her hard work. Delaney often worked the opening shifts on weekends, greeting her regular customers at 5:00 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday. She cherished those interactions and enjoyed the meaningful conversations she shared with them.

Delaney planned to take classes at Andrews High School during her senior year while also completing PACE college courses through Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Her goal was to graduate high school with 12 college credits already completed. She hoped to continue her education at HGTC and pursue a three-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Sonography. Delaney also aspired to become a Shift Lead at Seven Brew and would likely have become a trainer for local stores in the near future.

In her free time, Delaney loved spending time with her best friend, Emorey, and her beloved niece, Karina. She enjoyed dancing, being goofy, making TikToks, taking fun selfies, sunbathing at the beach and pool, and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies. Delaney was an incredible aunt to Karina and loved her as if she were her own daughter. She especially loved visiting Pawleys Island Beach and could often be found shopping at TJ Maxx and Dollar General stocking up on her favorite candles and snacks.

Delaney is survived by her beloved brothers, Colin and Austin; her loving sister, Baileigh; her devoted mother, Nora Penn; loving Nana, Mary Ann Penn; and her father, Rusty Shockley. She also has cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives she touched.

Delaney will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, genuine heart, infectious laughter, and unstoppable personality. Her legacy will live on in the countless people she touched with her kindness, warmth, and love. Though her time here with us was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her forever.
