Cindy Jones

Cindy Lou Wehunt Jones, 72, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at her home.

Born on January 3, 1954, in Laurens, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Wehunt and the late Lula Mae McCall. Mrs. Jones found happiness in the simple moments—gathering with those she loved, sharing laughter and enjoying the company of her children, grandchildren, and all who held a special place in her heart. A woman of kindness and quiet strength, Mrs. Jones also had a deep appreciation for music. Whether listening to her favorite songs at home or enjoying melodies that brought back treasured memories, music was a source of comfort and joy throughout her life.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Ray Jones of Georgetown; two daughters, Cheryl Moore (Darrell) of Georgetown and Crystal Wheeler (Bruce) of Andrews; and four grandchildren, Victoria Powell, Gabrielle Powell, Austin Wheeler (Emma) and Brycen Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frankie Stephens and Johnnie Bobo Deshields.

Due to a heat advisory, funeral services will be held at 4 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Rhems Pentecostal Holiness Church, 14229 Browns Ferry Road, Georgetown, SC 29440.

Burial will be private.
