Cathy Reeves Thames

Cathy Lorraine Reeves Thames, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at her home.

Born on January 22, 1947, in Niceville, FL, she was a daughter of the late Rodger Sylvester Reeves and the late Catherine Fore Reeves. Mrs. Thames was an active member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church where she served as a greeter, was a part of the Sonshine Class and was actively involved in Women’s Ministry. Along with serving at the church, Mrs. Thames helped with the church’s Yellow House ministry. In her spare time, Mrs. Thames enjoyed reading, tending to her yard, and thrifting. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.

Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; one son, Richard E. "Richie" Thames, II (Josie) of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Richard E. "Trey" Thames, III (Anna) of Lancaster and Cathryn Gale Thames of Georgetown; three great grandchildren, Calli Thames, Oliver Thames and Grayson Thames; one sister, Sheri Van Vlake of Timmonsville; one brother, Rodger Reeves (Rosa) of Ft. Myers, FL; seven nieces, Catherine Player Bone (Anthony) of Andrews, Katie Saggio (Eric) of Ft. Myers, FL, Ashley Gaede of Mt. Pleasant, Jenna McMillian of Hollywood, Millie Oldham, Ellis Wohlfarth and Lisa Avant of Hemingway; two nephews, Richard Lee Van Vlake, II (Dr. Adrienne) and Rufus Thames of Bristol, VA; five great nephews, Hank Van Vlake, Clint Van Vlake, Reeves Player, Matthew Player and Case Bone; two great nieces, Hannah Van Vlake and Haylee Van Vlake; four sisters-in-law, Patricia Query of Georgetown, Bonnie Anderson (Dana) of Georgetown, Robin Thomas (Marvin) of Weaversville, NC and Dr. Beverly Daniels of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Jennings Thames; a grandson, Arden Thames; one nephew, William Henry "Hank" Van Vlake, II

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
