Chip Cooper

Brachel Benjamin “Chip” Cooper, 73, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Born on May 11, 1952, in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Brachel Sam Washington Cooper and the late Gloria Loula Wiggins. Mr. Cooper was a hardworking man who spent many years as a boilermaker and commercial fisherman. He had a love for the water and enjoyed spending his time fishing. Whether working on the water or simply enjoying a day of fishing, it was where he found peace and happiness.

Survivors include two sons, Landy Cooper and Benjamin Avant; four grandchildren, John Yamamoto, Ethan Yamamoto, Nathan Yamamoto and Johanna Yamamoto; one sister, Crystal Cooper Brown; three nieces, Monica Brown, Charlotte Brown and Sophia Brown; one nephew, Joshua Coats; and special caregiver, Syliva Glisson.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the Wiggins Cemetery.
