Blinda J. Hutchinson, 81, of Georgetown, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026.
Born on September 22, 1944, Blinda was the daughter of the late Dessie J. Healan and Frank Healan. A lifelong resident of Georgetown, she dedicated her life to her family, her faith, her profession, and the community she loved.
Blinda shared 61 years of marriage with her beloved husband, L.B. Hutchinson, until his passing in August 2023. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to family. Their enduring partnership was an inspiration to all who knew them, and the memories they created together will be cherished for generations.
She is survived by her son, Michael “Mike” J. Hutchinson (Stephanie) of Georgetown; her beloved granddaughters, Peyton Hutchinson Godwin (Parker) and Paige Hutchinson all of Columbia; her sister, Lisa Warren of Myrtle Beach and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Hutchinson; her mother, Dessie J. Healan; her sisters, Betty Wilson and Bobbie Harrelson; and her brother, Bill Butler.

Her leadership extended far beyond the banking industry. Throughout the years, she served on numerous boards and organizations, including First Federal of Georgetown, United Way, and the Georgetown County Women’s Hospital Board. A true trailblazer, Blinda became the first woman in Georgetown County to join the Rotary Club of Georgetown.
In recognition of her leadership, accomplishments, and service to the community, Blinda was honored as an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1981. This distinction reflected the dedication, professionalism, and servant-hearted leadership that defined her life.
Faith was the foundation of Blinda’s life. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, a faithful member of the Potter Wheel Sunday School Class, and Treasurer of Community Bible Study. Through the years, she served on numerous church and school committees and found great joy in serving her church family and community.
