Ava Bullard

Ava Gray Miller Bullard, 92, widow of John H. Bullard, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at National Healthcare.

Mrs. Bullard was born on July 23, 1932, in Horry County, to the late John Clifford Miller and the late Mattie Shelley Miller. She was a member of Screven Baptist Church where she was a part of the Deborah Sunday school class. Mrs. Bullard had a great love of cooking, a passion she shared with family and friends. In addition to her love for cooking, she was an enthusiastic shopper, and sewing was another cherished pastime.

Survivors include three children, Donnie Bullard (Adline), Freida Kinard (Don) and Mattie Cooper; six granddaughters, Hona Miller (Scott), Missy Vause (Eric), Linda Freeman (Harry), Wendy Cooper, Nichole Moore (Warren) and Dana Blumenthal (Colt); 16 great grandchildren, Brittany, Brook, Bryson, Ryan, Matthew, Summer, Allie, Rachel, Candace, Michelle, John, Mallory, Gracie, Josh, Dallas and Sheldon;11 great-great grandchildren, Bryleigh, Bentley, Trinity, Blakleigh, Cooper, Rhys, Madisyn, Tori, Nash, Ella Gray and Karmen; two sisters, Jennie Hobbs (Murph) and June Grainger; a special family member, Geannie Ann Ard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jimmy Cooper; four brothers, JC Miller, Walter Miller, Horace Miller and Heyward Miller; and three sisters, Eloise Hammond, Freda Miller and Rita Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday, June 20, 2025, at Screven Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
