Anthony Keith Fort, 66, husband of Jan Powers Fort, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at The Landings of Georgetown.
Born on May 11, 1959, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Ansel Richard Fort and the late Ethelda Shuler Fort. Mr. Fort was a member of First Baptist Church and dedicated 35 years of service to Walmart. Away from work, he found genuine enjoyment in the simple pleasures of everyday life—spending time outdoors doing yard work, taking walks with his dog, and appreciating the quiet routines that brought him comfort. He also loved the traditions of duck hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to relax, enjoy nature, and share time with others. Above all, he treasured time with his family, and he especially looked forward to family vacations to Disney, memories that remained close to his heart.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Powers Fort of Georgetown; one daughter, Elizabeth Fort Moore (Scott) of Georgetown; a granddaughter on the way, Charlotte Ann Moore; two grandsons, Cole Moore and Gage Coleman both of Georgetown; "siblings", Jack Powers (Kim) of Georgetown, Richard Powers (Shelley) of Georgetown and Leigh Boan (Jason) of Pawleys Island; five nieces, Andie Downs (Michael), Ansley Powers, Andrea Smith, Presleigh Boan and Ellerby Boan; four nephews, Jackson Powers, Zachary Powers, Will Powers and Buck Boan; and fur babies, Daisy, Barnaby and Dolly.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jackie and Ann Powers.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 15, 2026, at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM at the church. Inurnment will be private.
