Amy Turner

Amy Mitchum Turner, 47, wife of Michael Eugene Turner, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at MUSC Florence.

Born on June 16, 1979, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Charles Wayne Mitchum and Lois Hinnant Mitchum. Amy was a loving and joyful person whose beautiful smile and caring spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved life, loved people, and never met a stranger. Amy’s smile was one of the things that made her so special, and she had a way of making those around her feel loved and welcomed.

Amy was a devoted member of Bloomingvale Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as president of the Women’s Ministry and as the church’s sound system coordinator. Her faith and love for her church family were an important part of her life.

Amy worked at Kingstree Federal Savings and Loan, a job she truly loved. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the people she worked with throughout the years. Outside of work and church, Amy enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises and making memories along the way. She had a fun-loving personality and could often be found watching cartoons or enjoying her favorite show, The Golden Girls. Amy had a special place in her heart for her fur babies and cherished every moment spent with them.

Above all, Amy treasured her family and the time they shared together. She loved deeply, laughed often, and lived life with a genuine appreciation for the people around her. Amy’s kindness, infectious smile, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
