Amelia Blake

Amelia Johnson Blake, 87, widow of George Ralph Blake, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Embrace Hospice House.

Born on October 27, 1938, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Johnson and the late Janie Belle Owens Johnson. Mrs. Blake was a devoted member of Screven Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on several committees and enjoyed being involved in the life of her church. She was a talented and creative woman who found joy in making things beautiful. She loved cooking and baking and was known for sharing her talents with family and friends. She was also crafty and enjoyed refinishing furniture, sewing, and working with her hands.

Mrs. Blake will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and the love she shared with those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Allison Denson (Bill) of Kingsland, GA; two step granddaughters, Ashley Denson Young (Dan) of Easton, PA and Sarah Denson Haislip of Summerville; two step great grandchildren, Emma Young and Oliver Young; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Blake Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Friday in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends after the service in the mausoleum.
