Agnes Goings McCaw

Agnes Jane Goings McCaw, aged 82, widow of Timothy E. McCaw Sr, passed away peacefully Friday, November 28, 2025, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born in Georgetown, South Carolina, to the late Eva Small and Joseph Madrick Goings. Ms. McCaw worked for 7 –Eleven as a manager for several years before retiring. Ms. McCaw was actively involved with Southside Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking trips with the ladies of the church, telling everyone how much she enjoyed their time together and adventures. In her spare time, Ms. McCaw could be found gardening in her yard. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

Survivors include her son, Tim McCaw of Suffolk; her grandchildren, Cara Byrd, Heather Smith, Taylor Harper, Ashanti, Kingston, Fletcher, and Vincent; and her sister, Jennifer "Peanut" Harrelson of Georgetown, South Carolina. She also leaves behind a large family of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory close.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Sonya Byrd; two sons, Tony and Wesley McCaw; six brothers, Joe Goings, Sam Goings, John Junior Goings, Earl Goings, LC Goings and Linwood Goings; four sisters, Frances Sanders, Susan Turner, Linda Elliott, and Doris “Frog” Poston; and her mother-in-law, Hazel Beatrice Johnson Harris.

A memorial service to honor Ms. McCaw’s' life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Southside Baptist Church.
